As mothers living in Las Vegas, a city filled with distractions and worldly temptations, we recognized the unique challenges children face in public schools. Nevada consistently ranks in the bottom 5 states in national education standards, and many school environments emphasize fleeting trends and following desires rather than God-consciousness, character-development, strong academics, and values.

Homeschooling can be an amazing alternative, but it often places an overwhelming burden on parents, demanding time, energy, and expertise. We wanted a better solution—one that blends strong academics with Islamic values, supports families, and fosters community.

Inspired by the small, intimate schools of the Islamic Golden Age, where students thrived intellectually, morally, and spiritually under close mentorship, we founded Tarbiya Academic Scholars Institute (TASI), a non-profit learning institute for homeschoolers that blends strong academics, character development, and faith-centered learning while also satisfying Nevada and regional standardsthis is the foundation of our Microschool model.

Our Mission Statement

At TASI, our mission is to empower children to grow as whole, principled individuals—combining academic excellence, strong Islamic values, and character development. Through our Akhira-first academics approach, we prepare students to think critically, act ethically, and succeed academically and spiritually, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and moral foundation to become confident and successful Muslims, students, professionals, and active, contributing members of their communities.

Akhira-First Philosophy

TASI emphasizes Akhira-First academics, which redefines success through a Quranic worldview: when a child’s goals and actions are aligned with Allah , true success is achieved. This framework ensures that students excel academically, gain real-world skills, and develop the character and spiritual grounding needed to thrive. Placing Akhira first does not come at the expense of worldly achievement—rather, it provides the guiding compass for excellence in both dunya and akhira.

Tarbiya as our Guiding Principle

At the heart of our program is tarbiya—the holistic cultivation of a child’s character, intellect, and soul. Tarbiya ensures that Islamic values are woven into every aspect of core academic and Islamic learning.

Our Tarbiya Instructors & Coaches play a central role, supporting each child’s intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth while fostering curiosity, critical-thinking, and a love of learning.
