At Tarbiya Academic Scholars Institute (TASI), Thursdays are iSTEAM Enrichment Day providing hands-on, project-based learning designed to spark curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving—through a distinctly Islamic lens. This enrichment day is already included as part of our regular weekly program, so families do not need to apply for it separately. Thursday iSTEAM days are optional, but highly encouraged!
What is iSTEAM?
The original learning framework of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) encourages children to think critically, experiment boldly, collaborate with peers, and explore real-world challenges through creativity and inquiry in the above subjects. Our“i” represents Islam, grounding each subject in purpose, ethics, and reflection.
By blending these subjects rather than teaching them in isolation, iSTEAM helps students:
- Build, design, and experiment
- Think like engineers, scientists, and innovators
- Apply academic concepts in fun, meaningful ways
Academic & Islamic Workshop-Style Learning
Our iSTEAM day combines the excitement of workshop-style learning with the grounding of Islamic values. Students experience immersive, hands-on stations such as:
- Qur’an-inspired engineering builds
- Nature and science explorations tied to signs of Allah’s ﷻ creation
- Robotics that reflect ethics, teamwork, and stewardship of Allah’s ﷻ creation
- Nutrition and physical health as taught in Prophetic Medicine ﷺ
- Art projects rooted in Islamic design
- Deepening a greater understanding of our rich, Islamic history as pioneers in math and science
Our iSTEAM workshops and activities nurture an awe of Allah ﷻ, pull from prophetic wisdom ﷺ, and build curiosity, real-world application, and a love for learning.
